Everyone continues to wonder when the clock will strike midnight for Case Keenum's magical season. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback has produced a career year in a breakout season, and the Vikings hope he can continue to string play when they host the New Orleans Saints in a NFC divisional playoff game on Sunday (1:40 p.m. PT/4:40 p.m. ET, KPTV-12, FOX).

Keenum, a career backup in his first five seasons, has thrown nearly as many touchdown passes (22) for the Vikings (13-3) during the 2017 season as he did in his first five seasons combined (24). He finished with a career-high quarterback rating of 98.3 during the season and has probably earned a very nice new contract for the 2018 season. 

Keenum has undoubtedly been helped by the ferocious Vikings defense, the best unit in the NFL during the regular season. They ranked first in yards per play, second in passing defense, second in rushing defense and they were first in third-down conversion percentage. 

The multi-faceted Saints (11-5) offense will be tested against the Vikings. The Saints used their potent rushing attack featuring Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara during the regular season. However, the Carolina Panthers shut down the Saints rushing attack in the wild card game, but quarterback Drew Brees threw for 376 yards and two touchdowns in the 31-26 win.
